Ellen Mosley-Thompson, Ph.D.
Dr. Ellen Mosley-Thompson is a Research Scientist and Professor in the Department of Geography (College of Behavioral and Social Sciences), and one of the founders of the Byrd Polar Research Center (BPRC). She has achieved recognition for ground-breaking research in the field of paleoclimatology and was recently elected to the National Academy of Sciences (2009). Her work – and the body of work of the scientists at BPRC – has become a focal point in the worldwide discussions about global warming, and the extent of its effects as well as its causes.
