The Office of Research is planning an exciting month in November. In addition to the Research Expo, we will be offering a slate of educational opportunities for faculty and staff. Faculty can start with “Being a PI” and then move on to more in-depth courses on funding opportunities and utilizing electronic research tools which assist in submitting proposals and managing awards. Staff can begin with “Orientation to Research Administration at The Ohio State University” which is designed for research administrators and then move on to other in-depth courses. Gordon Gee to Speak at Research Expo

University president, E. Gordon Gee will welcome all attendees at this year’s Research Expo, on Tuesday, November 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us at 9 a.m. to hear remarks from Dr. Gee and then tour the Expo. New this year, a full schedule of educational sessions is being offered throughout the day. Be sure to check the Expo page for full details.

This year’s Research Expo has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, from 9 am to 4 pm. We are excited to announce that the venue will be the newly renovated William Oxley Thompson Library. The main Expo event will be held in the beautiful West Reading Room. A variety of one-hour educational sessions will be held throughout the day. Meet representatives from the Office of Research and its administrative units, network with other researchers, speak with exhibitors and vendors, and learn about the newest tools and resources that can support your research endeavors. Whether you want to learn how Ohio State manages the proposal development and submission process, how to use electronic tools to manage your project, or how to work with the institutional review boards (IRBs) for research involving humans or animals, and/or other compliance requirements this event is a “must” for new and experienced researchers, staff, and students.

Annually, Ohio State’s Office of Research hosts Research Awareness Month – a series of events and educational programs designed to showcase our world-class researchers and support services. The kick-off event is the Research Expo being held on November 3 at the newly renovated Thompson Library. This marquee event provides an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to learn about existing and new services and tools offered by the Office of Research – all designed to facilitate research activity. Then, throughout the month, we will be offering more in-depth educational opportunities, each designed for faculty and staff at various stages of their career.
